Updating the blog I began before my first Camino (Portuguese from Valença) back in 2013. Excitedly I write, dear reader, that I am undertaking a SOLO adventure this August, 2019. This year I will cross the Pyrenees and head into Spain. I will begin the 500+ miles to Santiago, completing what I can during my time off. I am breaking up the Camino Frances into portions that I can do during breaks from my job as a preschool Special Ed. teacher. I work a 12- month program and get, at max, two weeks off at any given time- so I am doing this in a start/stop fashion. Do I wish I could do it all in one fell swoop? Yes, I do. But this manner of walking will serve its purpose. I will leave NYC on August 18th. I am heading to Paris, sightseeing a bit then heading to Biarritz by plane. Then I will be taking the train to St. Jean. I will leave from Madrid on the 30th. I do not know when I will stop walking as that shall be a surprise to us all! I am going to be prepping and praying! Hope you will follow my journey.

It is now 2014, the trip has been done! And I have caught the CAMINO BUG>>>> can't wait to go back again, for longer!
MY ORIGINAL POST:
This year (2012) I have decided not to put off my dream of walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. My desire to do this began years ago after reading Paulo Coelho's book, "The Pilgrimage." Then I came across Shirley Maclaine's "Camino" and next, a viewing of "The Way." I cannot wait any longer. I am saving, preparing and will be leaving NYC to Spain in June 2013 (God willing) Ultreya!
